Why Volunteer?

Benefits of Volunteering
People volunteer for a wide variety of reasons, especially wanting to help others, but it is also important that the volunteer benefits somehow from doing volunteer work.  There is a long tradition of seeing volunteering as a form of charity, based on altruism and selflessness. The best volunteering does involve the desire to serve others, but it should also give a reward to the volunteers themselves.

Why Volunteer?
  • to share a skill
  • to get to know a community
  • to gain leadership skills
  • to learn something new
  • to help a friend or relative
  • to be challenged
  • to make new friends for fun
  • to be part of a team
  • to build your CV
  • because of personal experience with the problem, illness, or cause
We rely on the time, commitment and effort our volunteers put in and new volunteers are always welcome.
